- I helped one of my friend in a similar situation. We think she may have been hacked though one of the older bugs in MacOS - where the computer could be compromised by simply visiting a web site in Safari. My suggestion would be: Save your documents somewhere safe, eg removable hard drive. Save them again somewhere else, eg iCloud, Google Drive etc.
